Headphone Driver and Ear Cushion Mount for 95mm Headphone DIY Kit

This is an replacement Driver and Ear Cushion Mount for the 95mm Headphone DIY Kit whioch is sold by the Aliexpress NSC Audio DIY Store for example.

The DIY Headphone Kit is surprisingly high in quality and comes with two mounts (one for each ear) of a selectable dirver-size. Into these mounts the drivers get glued in place and the Ear cushion gets wrapped around the mounts.

As I want to test different headphone drivers and sizes I reverse engineered the mount and customized it in various ways so I can hot-swap between the drivers.

To easily swap the headphone drivers, I soldered 10cm long 24 AWG silicon wiring with an KK 254 connector (often known as the PC-Fan connectors) connector to each driver. I soldered the corresponding terminals directly to the terminals of the audio jacks inside each earcup. This way no re-soldering is required when changing the headphone drivers.

Currently you can download multiple versions of the mount:

• for 40mm and 50mm drivers (comment below if you need another size)
• with or without protection grill (use these if your drivers have no protection by them self, but still be very cautious to not damage the drivers membranes!)
• with or without holes (this provides an much more “open sound” at the cost of bass)

I own the open back version of the headphones, there is also an closed one available. In theory this mounts should also be 100% compatible with the closed back version but I can't test that.
