My drill and hole saw Bosch toolbox comes with living hinges but over the years they have cracked and split. I thought it would be a shame to throw it away so designed this living hinge as a clip in replacement. This design pivots reducing the flex of the original part but still clips together securely.
I printed the pictured hinges with Eryone Polypropylene on my Mk4 with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2 layer height. I used the satin print bed with Magigoo Pro PP bed adhesive, supports everywhere and a 12 mm brim with 0.0 mm brim gap at 235ºC and 100ºC bed temperature. The supports came away easily and the brim was removable with scissors.
This needs to be printed in a semi-flexible material. I first tried printing it in Taulman PCTPE which had a similar amount of flexibility and held securely but my sample filament had gained moisture looked a little rough.
I suspect a harder TPU might also be suitable.
