I wanted to make use of the shower bar as a shelf. My family was already doing this and I was tired of the bottles falling through. Sigh. ;)

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I was doodling a design and found this one. Spot on to what I was thinking. I made some changes to make different uses of it as well.

  • Cut to about 177mm since my printer is a 10^3, not the original print dimensions - also made it ~7in since my bar is around 14in - I will print sections (if I choose)
  • Changed the wall depth and bar placement, bar width for my shower size
  • Opened the hole up about 5mm to around 29mm
  • Extended the lip out just a little bit to avoid turning a couple of bottles and reinforced it back to the far bar snap
  • Made a slight incline to help with water drainage
  • Added some 2mm raised surfaces so soap etc has more drain area
  • Added some holes to assist with draining

I used supports because I hated my life and needed to cry. Youc an see some scuffs where I cried and took out my anger. Just kidding - I let supports run auto and should have changed some things. Its for my shower and destined to be cluttered or soap filled. I am not printing again for that. It is not perfect, I am off-center a little. V2, if I decide to keep going would interlock in the offset - I have space for 2 side by side. Also, I want to add an adjustable bar to the wall slider allowing more of a “one size fits all.” Not sure I will get to that though lol.

If you are still reading… its like a find Waldo. I cannot unsee the hair on the soap now. Bleh. :)
