I recently added a bunch of kallax shelves to my home office, and wanted to add some organization to the drawer inserts. Finally, I can have fun with gridfinity! There were multiple models on the various model sites that could work, but none of them fit what I was looking for, so I made my own.

Full credit to Zach Freedman at VoidStar Labs for starting this crazy standard.

First, I found that taking tools out of the bins would sometimes pull the bins up. I wasn't hurting for z space in my drawers so I added a few mm to the base to make room for magnet inserts. If you want this, you'll need standard 6x2 magnets. I kept the standard 6.5mm clearance even though you could make that tolerance much tighter with most modern printers.

Second, since Ikea failed to consider gridfinity standards into account when designing Kallax, various designs either use spacers or just cut off the next row of squares or something. I felt this was wasted space. Since it's hard to reach the back of the drawers, I moved the Y axis spacer to the back. The X axis spacer became a cubby, so you can store long flat things like a ruler, pencils/pens, etc.

The base conforms to all gridfinity sizing standards, though it does not include screw holes or anything like that. It also isn't super filament conscious since I wanted it to fit nicely and feel sturdy.

It's probably painfully obvious, but I'm not an engineer and mostly been learning CAD through designing little projects for the house. Constructive feedback and requests help me learn, the more the merrier.
