update 20/07/2025:

added the internals for the pre-fan filter part. updated the photos a bit as well.

update 23/12/2024:

added the intake and exhaust covers. (for the intake one you can just take the original model. and for the exhaust one you can take the spider one from the thingiverse link below).

I used https://www.printables.com/model/1027-empire-30mm-40mm-fan-guards-star-wars-pattern/ this pattern for the exhaust that I'm gonna use.

Description:

If you are printing ABS or ASA, but basically any material (even PLA!) without good room ventilation, this is a must!

I liked the minimalistic design by JKSniper, but it didn't fit the parts that I had already ordered for this HEPA filter fan duct: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3070659

I still have to complete my build, but the place where I am gonna laser-cut my acrylic side-panel of my enclosure is still closed during the summer break so, I'll post an update soon.

To make sure you don't order the wrong parts like I did, here are the parts I used. I linked them below:

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I changed three things:

  • the total height of the filter duct to a total of 75mm. which was 89mm
  • the space for the fan, which was 27mm, but my fan was only 25mm thick so I reduced that part so the duct part could be longer
  • the space for the filter. the filter that I got was different than the one that is seen in the original model. so I had to change the dimensions. the dimensions of the filter that I used are 115x135x25 (those are the dimensions of the part of the filter that should be inserted into the duct

I used TinkerCAD to do this because I still find that the easiest way to edit STL files
