I've been using Adafruit's wonderful Heat Set Insert Rig with a Haako soldering iron for years. I wanted to adapt it to use the Pinecil soldering iron to make a more compact assembly that would be easier to put up and take down off the shelf. I saw a couple of designs here for mounts for the Pinecil, but none of them seemed to be designed for pintability. I like to print parts like this in ABS, and those designs were not suitable for that.
This is a very simple design, just like the original mount from Adafruit, it consists of a front and back piece fastened with four M3x8 BHCS and heat-set inserts. I used the standard Voron sized heat-sets, but it should work with most anything M3 sized. I've included the CAD source in case you need to make a tweek.
Many thanks to Daniel Soussi who created a 3D model for the Pinecil. It made creating this design really simple.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
