I got the idea from other models that used this pocket in the maverick to add trashcans and the like. I needed a spot to mount the head unit for my kenwood tm-d710, and while not an optimal location, it would make wiring super simple.

This mount sits (weight, friction) in the cubby and provides a slide mount for the read of the d710. It also as a cutout / slot for routing the required power/data cable. It keeps the head in arms reach, but out of sight while driving (downside). I may move to a different location when I feel like tearing the dash apart to run cables, but for now I think this gets me up and running with little hassle.

The design was rapid, so this is not optimized to minimize support material - it is a bit of a waste, but better than printing the void with infill. If your machine does excellent bridging, you might be able to forego much of the support material.
