I use a Peak Design handlebar mount for my bike, which is awesome, but I also need a popsocket to keep from dropping my phone on my face. So I merged the two designs for a Popsocket that can simply twist into the female part of the Peak Design system.
I printed with Ultimaker 2, PLA. Best to place flat on the printing surface on the PD twist anchor. I used gyroid fill, normal support, placement “touching buildplate”, and a build plate adhesion of skirt. You might find better ways to print - I'm new at this, and tried an everywhere support at first, and it was quite a handful to get all the support struts off without damaging the item.
I got a magsafe adapter ring and glued to the side with the anchor, since PD products have magnets. Just a firmer fix.
For future fixes, I'll probably slope the edges of the 5cm disc so it's not a full 1mm thick - it's a bit bulky in the hand.
The author remixed this model.
I removed the RokForm adapter and replaced it with the Peak Design Mobile anchor system. I have two versions - one in the original size from the source (typical popsocket size), and one expanded to 5cm in diameter so I could fit a magnet adapter ring for a more secure fit.
I also adapted the Peak Design Mobile anchor so that it is twice the thickness of the original. The original thickness left it wobbly and insecure in my PD Universal adapter; thicker, it's nice and snug.
