INTRODUCTION

These LED mounts were designed to fit into the 1515 extrusion slot to hold the Neopixel LED strips. They are designed to hold an strip of 9 LED's.

THE DESIGN

These LED mounts were designed and prototyped to make them fit LED strips tight. This does mean that you do not need to use the sticky backing of the LED strips. They are designed to be printed on the V0 printer and print vertically due to the design. You may need to enable a brim to help keep the model stuck to the printer bed. In my testing I have had a number of failed prints due the LED strip mount lifting off the bed as it prints higher up.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

To Install these we are assuming that you have already wired up 2 x strips of 9 LED's. In my implementation I have wired the LED's in parallel. What that means is that for the config you would configure 9 LED's and if you were to address LED 1 then it would be the 1st LED on both strips.

  1. Connect the 2 parts (A & B) LED strip mount together using the printed bone connectors.
  2. Slide the LED strip into the mount. There is room for the soldered part to slide into the mount.
  3. Press fit the LED strip mount into the 1515 extrusion.
  4. Repeat for the other side.
  5. DONE!
