This is a remix of the 16x16 LED Matrix frame from fractalnoise.

I made some modifications required for my own specific use case and to improve the print quality of the back frame itself.

I printed the model with PETG and added “mouse ears” to the corners to prevent warping. Using the Prusaslicer PETG preset with a skirt of 3 layers high, there's no warping for me. The mouse ears are very easy to remove after printing and leave no marks on the model.

Différences du remix par rapport à l'original

The back frame was modified to accomodate a DC-022B power connector. The optional clips for the MAX4466 or MAX9814 microphone were removed. Added “mouse ears” to the corners to prevent warping.

Added a support for the LED matrix in the center of the back frame to prevent sagging in the middle.

Removed the 3D printed LED diffuser and left only the grid itself. Added notches to the grid to accomodate 2 places in the 16x16 matrix where there's an additional SMD. The grid no longer rests on those 2 SMD's when assembled. The remixed version of the grid is designed to be used with photography LED diffuser sheets or similar material.

Largest change was the “decoupling” of the support for the diffuser grid from the outer wall. Printing the original with the support for the diffuser grid and the outer wall as a single part created a very visible ridgeline due to the difference in temperature between the layer where the diffuser support ended and the rest of the outer wall. Since the support is now no longer connected, the outer wall prints flawlessly.
