Requires - 2x M3 heat inserts (5mm OD x 4mm H).
Insert into BOTTOM 2 outer holes - I chose to rear mount them for higher strength.
— The Story —
Wanted more than 10~mm^3 flow rate from the stock v2NEO hotend, also wanted to print above 230c without PTFE fumes ruining everything
“TZ” style/clone hotends, are the cheapest bambu style/ceramic heater(?) on the market - £$€10-15 (mid2024).
They fly up to 300c in 1minute~, print 25-33mm^3 continously (material/nozzle dependant), and are all metal design- no more PTFE tube insert.
— The Problem —
The TZ is 5mm~ shorter from the bolt holes to the nozzle tip, than the v2NEO hotend - meaning it sits above the BLTouch + part fan. Bad.
— The Solution —
I used a v2NEO CAD to design the part, offset it -5.5mm(Z) to clear the pan head M3 bolts (pan required to lock the part in place, flush with the standoffs)
The holes are oversized because my printer seems to have an overextraction/e-step/something issue - the top 2 holes want to come out to 4.2mm⌀ , and the bottom 2 want to be 4.3mm⌀ - for the heat inserts im using
— Final thoughts —
I have this printed and running, used it to print more emergency/temporary replacements in the v4 version. Ask if you want more pics / wiring help.
— Print Settings —
PLA+ , 6 Perimeters, 5 bottom, 4 top, ironing(not required) [I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLA for this part, please use PETG at the least. Make sure you have lots of test fitted spares incase it melts and you cant print again.]
[UPDATE may2025. been running the PLA+ version the whole time with seemingly no issues. Still recommend PETG or better in regards to TG value]
Recommended:
PETG/ABS/ASA, 6 Perimeters, 1Bot, 1Top,
