The probably quietest, yet still powerful oscillating fan, the Iris Ohyama Woozoo PCF-SM12, has one major flow: you can only use it standing on the floor.

As i wanted to use this fan in my grow box, i needed some way of mounting it upside down and/or sideways, so i created this mounting bracket that has a 55x55mm hole pattern to attach any kind of mounting contraption you can come up with.

You'll need 8 * M3x5x4 (Voron-style) heat set inserts to properly use it.

As installing the brackets requires opening up the fan, here are some tips i wish i had the first time i opened mine up:

  • Remove the bottom plate held in place by a single screw
  • Remove at least one side of and loosen the other, or completely remove, the power cable strain relief
  • Use something like a screwdriver to pull the two lobes of the retainer clip, that is holding the “rotation axis” in place, to the sides, so that the clip releases and you can take the bottom cover off
  • Remove the rubber feet
  • Use M3x16 countersunk bolts to attach the inner bracket to the mounting plate
  • Reassemble in reverse order (but leave the bolts in place 😉)
