A plant pot in several parts. With viewing window for the water level. Use self-watering wick to supply the plant above the water reservoir. The float improves visibility. More plant pot designs available. I have provided a watering opening so that the water pot can be filled without watering the soil in the pot.

Wicking cords or wicks are advantageous in self-watering pots because they provide a consistent and controlled water supply. Here are some reasons why they are better than having the soil directly in the water:

Prevention of waterlogging: When the soil is directly in the water, it can lead to waterlogging, which can suffocate the roots and cause root rot. Wicking cords draw water from the reservoir and slowly release it to the soil, minimizing the risk of waterlogging.

Optimal moisture control: Wicking cords ensure that the soil remains evenly moist. They draw only as much water as the plant needs, preventing overwatering and keeping the plant healthier.

Efficient water distribution: The cords distribute water more efficiently in the soil, leading to better root development and healthier plant growth.

Less maintenance: With wicking cords, you have to worry less about your plants drying out or being overwatered. This is especially useful if you travel a lot or have a large number of plants.
