Nerf Knockout Mod "Diamond Back"

The Diamond Back is a mod for the Nerf Rival Knockout. It uses custom made shells that can be swapped in and out though the sides of the gun to fire a wide variety of ammunition types.

When firing short darts, it can reach muzzle velocities of over 30 m/s (or 100 ft/s). 

It is compatible with standard nerf rounds, half darts, ultra rounds, mega (cut to ~70mm long), and rival (feel free to remix and add to this list). 

STEP files are included, feel free to remix! Please just make sure to attribute.  

Printing

Prints without support. No brims or skirts required. All settings can be left at default (0.2mm layer height, 15% infill, 2 wall loops) or changed to your preferences. 

Designed to be printed on a Bambu Labs A1 mini or bigger (180mm x 180mm printing area).

Additional Parts

- 100mm length of 3.2mm metal rod

- 8 small screws, ~2.6mm x 8mm (found in most stock nerf guns)

- 4 springs, ~10mm diameter and in height

- Small strip of foam

Other Notes

For fellow nerf modders, included is a file called “Frame test”. This is not a part of the Diamond Back, it is a map of where the holes and pins in the Nerf Knockout are. I used it to make the shell fit together with the Knockout internals, and you might find it useful for modding purposes too.
