Tatami mats for Tameshigiri (test cutting with swords) are affixed to their stand with a spike, which is typically a sharpened wooden dowel. This sharpener works the same way as a pencil sharpener, except it is sized for a ¾ to 1 inch wooden dowel. It can re-sharpen blunted spikes and even sharpen a dowel with no existing point.
It prints with no supports and no special settings. I print mine in PLA or PETG at a layer height of 0.3 or 0.4 depending on the nozzle.
Insert a standard trapezoidal utility knife blade in the slot at an angle and pivot it counterclockwise, then secure it with a #4 sheet metal screw.
