V-Slot Aluminum Extrusion Splicing Jig

I wanted something that would help me splice filament together and I was not finding a lot of options online that I liked. Had some extra aluminum extrusion and V-slot wheels so I just mocked something up. It works well enough but I need to find a good way of clipping the excess or having an easier way to remove the filament.

Suggestions are welcome on how to improve on this.
