I wanted a "House on the Rock" souvenir sign but couldn't buy one, so I designed a 3D printable version myself.

Designed by Alex Jordan Jr. and opened in 1959 in Spring Green, Wisconsin, House on the Rock is an extraordinary tourist attraction. Known for its eclectic architecture and vast collection of unusual items, including the world's largest indoor carousel, it offers a surreal experience. Now, with this 3D printable sign, I can bring a piece of its unique charm home.

More information about this somewhat traumatizing childhood memory is available here: https://www.thehouseontherock.com

Build Information

This file prints in three parts.

  • 2x Signs (these are not identical, the arrow is mirrored)
    • Swap filament at 6.35mm for the text, arrow, and frame to print cleanly.
  • 1x Stand
    • Swap filament around 8mm for a nice patch of grass on top.
    • I used fuzzy skin on the exterior to add a little extra flair.

Assembly

I used some super glue on the stand and the back of both signs to keep everything together. Clamps helped this cure as aligned as possible.

Filament Used

  • Inland PLA+ Brown
  • Inland PLA White
  • Inland PLA True Green
