Allows for the installation of a common 4" dryer duct hose to the exhaust fan built into the back of the Qidi X-Max 3. Use these to vent your printer outside, for the removal of fumes from printing ABS, ASA, etc. With 4" duct I found that the stock fan was sufficiently powerful to reach the end of an 8 foot long run without the need to add any inline fans, etc. You can feel the air blowing out the end quite noticeably.

Includes two flange adapters: An inlet and an outlet. The inlet goes on the back of the printer. The outlet goes outside. The only difference is the outlet adapter has a grate in it to keep critters out of your duct. Just mount the outlet adapter onto a board or similar with a suitably sized hole knocked in it and close it in your window. Installing in a sheltered location and with a window screen between the outlet and the outside world is recommended to keep rain and bugs out.

The exhaust fan on the X-Max 3 is just a regular 90mm layout, so these can also attach to any 90mm fan on any other device.

The inlet adapter can be screwed directly to the four mounting holes for the printer's stock fan. Replace the stock fan mounting screws with for #4 x 5/8" wood or sheet metal screws with a washer on the head. As your attorney I advise you to remove and replace the screws one at a time, so the fan doesn't fall off inside the printer and force you to go chasing after it. The mounting holes in the flange are oversized so you can remove the original screws through it, while it is in place, and then install your longer screws and washers back into the hole.

You could also just mount this with double-sided tape or something, if you're chicken.

The inlet adapter flange will not block the access panel on the rear of the printer, so don't worry about it if you need to get to the control boards later.
