Consider following me on Instagram (@SMACKMAX_). I try to post all of my prints, renders, and animations to build a portfolio of my projects, often in advance of publishing the models. This way, you can get a sneak peek of what's coming next! https://www.instagram.com/smackmax_/

Presenting Ace - A mechanical dimming desk lamp that shines in your face a bit. Sometimes, when figuring out what you want, just trying the thing works best. I could not get my desk lamp idea past the sketching phase, so here is me testing some ideas. This is pretty much just a prototype where you see me figuring out what I do and don't like as I explore different directions. While I'm working on a new version, I thought this one looks cool enough to share.

Check out the .gif to see the workings

It sports the following features:

- Mechanical dimmer

- Terrible to assemble

- Shines in your face

Bill of Mats:

-Bambu Lab Lamp Kit or a generic 70 x 8 mm LED lamp puck.

-8 pcs M4 Hex Bolts: Total length of max 14 mm (10 mm thread, 4 mm head) 4x to attach the top ring to the big Tub piece. 4x to attach the bottom booster under the tub.

-10 pcs M4 Hex Bolts: Total length 20 mm (16 mm thread, 4 mm head) 4x to attach the big outer piece to the middle ring and under tub. 3x to attach top knobs and dial to the rotating lid. 3x to attach the dimmer to the rotating lid, locking everything in place.

* i suppose it should be doable with superglue instead of bolts

Many of my projects are personal projects and can be complex to print and assemble so keep that in mind
