7 Day AM/PM Pill Box

The youngest and I needed a better way to keep track of our meds, so I decided to make a pill box. The goal was to make something easy to use but something that also doesn't come open if you drop it or put it in a bag when traveling.

Each lid has a neodymium magnet in the middle to keep it from opening on its own but still allows easy access to your medication.

It's pretty easy to put together. I recommend super gluing the magnets to the base and each lid, so they don't come out. The rails are a pretty tight fit and shouldn't have to be glued.

There are two different versions for the lid:

  • Day of the week on the knob (Pill Box - Lids v2.stl
  • Day of the week on the lid (Pill Box - Lids v1.stl).

Extra Items Needed

  • Neodymium Magnets
    • 14 - 10mm x 3mm
  • Super Glue (Recommended)

  • Infill: 10% (Lightning)
  • Perimeters: 3
  • Supports: None

Lids (v1 or v2) (Pill Box - Lids v1 or v2.stl)

  • Infill: 10% (Gyroid)
  • Perimeters: 3
  • Supports: None
  • Color Changes: See “Color Changes” Table below

Rails (Pill Box - Rails [8x].stl)

  • Infill: 10% (Gyroid)
  • Perimeters: 3
  • Supports: None

Notes:

  • If you are having trouble with the rails sticking to the build plate, use a glue stick to help. This resolved all of the issues I was facing with random rail corners coming off mid-print
  • It prints best in PLA. If you are planning on printing this in PETG, you might have to scale the rails down to 99% as they were a little tight when I was printing tests.

Putting Everything Together..

Once you have everything printed follow the steps below to put it all together:

  • Put a dab of super glue into each of the magnet holes on the base, then push one magnet into each of the holes. Do the same thing for the lids.
  • Once the glue has dried, put each lid on the base in their correct order.
  • Take each rail and snap it onto the base. It shouldn't take a lot of force to snap together, just make sure it's lined up before pushing hard.

All the doors should move left and right without any issues but stay in the middle when not being used.
