This insert fits all content from Spirit Island, Branch & Claw, Jagged Earth, Feather & Flame (Promo Pack 1 and Promo Pack 2), Horizons of Spirit Island, and Nature Incarnate in the original Spirit Island box, with no lid lift! It's a tight fit, but if like me you often travel with Spirit Island and are looking for the most compact way to bring it all, this is it.
NOTE: Requires the thinner “foil” Spirit panels that are sold separately.
I printed with the following settings:
Some trays, like the Adversary Reminders tray and the Energy tray, have feet that extrude 1mm under them to help lock them into the trays below them, meaning the majority of the tray will be printed with 1mm supports under it that can be a little annoying to remove. I found tweezers and patience worked well.
The most challenging part to print is the Presence tray, which requires numerous supports. I recommend printing it upside-down, which should require less filament overall. The corresponding doors should be undersized enough that tolerances don't have to be perfect for them to slide into and out of the slots, but they might need to be slid in and out a couple times to break them in and wear down little points of friction from the print.
I recommend printing the Presence tray and Adversary/Scenario cap piece upside down, and everything else right-side up.
The included assembly guide shows how all the pieces fit together, and photos are available as well.
The Spirit Power card slots and the token trays were both intended to be long, continuous pieces, but my printer doesn't have a long enough bed for that. So I cut them both down for convenience. However, if you prefer they can be glued together (the Spirit Power card slots glued together, and the Element/Beast trays each glued to the larger token trays). If your printer supports it, you might even merge the STLs together and make them each a single piece again, but none of it is strictly necessary.
The small cap that goes on top of the Adversary/Scenario panels is optional, but locks the panels into place so they won't somehow slide up above the adjacent card slots when the game is transported or jostled.
The included PDF can be printed on US Letter (8.5"x11") paper at 100% scale on regular card stock (anything too much thicker won't fit), and cut out using a guillotine cutter or other straight cutter.
To cut the piece out that leaves a tab, I use a guillotine cutter to start cutting across each divider, then come in with scissors to finish the cut across, registering the side of the scissors along the existing cut to ensure it's straight. Then I make the last small cut from above, leaving the tab.
In spite of the tabs, the cards will be tight enough that it will be difficult to pull out a single Spirit's Power cards at once, so when playing you'll likely need to pull out all of the Spirit cards in that slot, then use the divider to extract the ones you need, then put the remaining cards back in the slot.
To make them all fit, this is how I suggest ordering them:
