Description

PDF

I bought a knockoff Bambu hotend and I already has a Noctua 4020 cooler. There wasn't any toolhead for my needs unfortunately, so I've done one of my most challenging CAD work. Not an engineer here, but a designer. Anyways, I wanted to do a really good job with my editing. Any feedback welcomed! ✌

Overall I tried to change the original Apogee parts at least as possible, and I ended up changing these:

  • Fanmount
  • Hotend base
  • Wire cover

Print settings

Same as the original design

Few more thoughts

I used 3M*3*4.2 mm brass heat inserts to fasten the bambu hotend. The rest is square nuts as intended. If you can figure out how to change the hotend base for square nuts instead, feel free to remix my design.

I also included one of the mounts provided for probing. Unchanged. (BLTouch mount, which I believe meant for CR Touch. I use BLT.) If you interested about what I changed, just check my remix description.

You can find all three files in step and stl.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Only 3 parts changed compared to the original design:

  • The base modified for Bambu hotends (Personally I use a Kingroon version.) I added heat inserts to fasten the hotend securely.
  • I also changed the fan mount's dimensions and overall look for my taste. It's slightly more minimal, but much wider to accept the 4020 Noctua
  • The wire cover slightly changed as well. The bottom part was in the way of the x-endstop. I removed that and added an additional clamp to keep it more straight when I put lots of cables in it.
