I saw some cool (pun intended) ideas for 40mm covers for the MK4, but didn't like some aspects such as tabs that broke to easily or having to mount with the fan mounting screws. I liked what I had on my MK3s+ cooling fan where it snapped on and made it easy to clean the fan without having to unscrew it.
I've included a base model in Step and 3MF to allow others to make their own mods. Please share so we can all see what you did to make the cover look cooler.
I printed my cover in PET+ (MadeSolid - Blue - no longer available).
If you print a fine detailed grill, I recommend you don't use the Speed or the higher speed Input Shaper (IMHO).
The author remixed this model.
Added stronger sides instead of clips that break to easily. Made it snap in place, no unscrewing needed in order to clean the fan blades. Included space for the fan wiring. Included some base models to allow others to make their own mods. Have fun with it!
The STEP files are intended to make it easy to add a mod grill face of your own.
The STLs can be modified in PrusaSlicer, the one with the big hole is intended for you to add your own infill without a top and bottom layers.
