  • 0.2mm layer height
  • No Skirt or Brim

Procedure

In order to print the design as a different color, you are going to print 1 layer of the design, then, using a 2nd gcode file, print the background on top of the first print. This will result in printing a 2nd first layer, but it shouldn't overlap anything.

  1. Ensure the model is face down in PrusaSlicer.
  2. Right click and select “Split” → “To objects”.
  3. On the right, you should now see multiple STLs. Turn the visibility of the first off.
  4. Only the design should be visible now (when you slice).
  5. Important: Set “Skirt and Brim” to 0. Set Layer height to 0.20mm.
  6. Slice the model and save the gcode file as “design”.
  7. Reverse the visibility of the STLs to make the design invisible and the background visible.
  8. Slice the model and save the gcode file as “background”.
  9. Load the design color and print the design.
  10. Immediately after printing finishes, unload the filament and load the background color.
  11. Leave the design on the print bed, but remove the purge line at the front of the printer.
  12. Print the background.
  13. Enjoy!
