This its a complete replacement for the original paper tray roller. Can be compatible with other HP laser printers, because this roller it's very common.
If you follow the instructions you can print yourself a replacement that work even with one paper (check the video attached)
I designed two versions, the version that I uploaded it's the second one that has some errors corrected.
Blue foam → V1 , blue tpu 93a (to hard, cant work with paper level low)
Green foam → V2, green tpu 82a (soft enough to pick the paper)
Roller
Print with whatever you want, recommended PETG
Roller foam
Shores above 90a they are to hard, the roller can work, but when the tray have few papers the roller cant drag the paper. If you can live with that… you can use >90a TPU. The foam can't be bigger because hit the printer inside and stop turning.
Mine it's printed with Recreus Filaflex 82a. (The green one)
Roller
Recommended the use of support interface (you can use PLA as interface if printed in PETG), if not use tree support.
Roller foam
This it's the “tricky” part. You need to use the fuzzy skin feature in order to achieve the rough surface, you can play with that to achieve the best surface that works with your filament.
If you have other type of flexible filament you can use these settings to achieve the best performance. Check the differences
Assemble the same way of the original one, the foam slides in to the roller and stays in place byself. Glue is not needed.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
