**Summary for DIY Grow and Dry Tent Controller Video**
Welcome to my DIY grow and dry tent controller tutorial! My name is Daniel, and I'm from Germany. In this video, I'll guide you through building a highly practical and reliable control system for your grow or dry tent. This project is easy to follow and cost-effective, and all the designs are openly available on Thingiverse. Let's get started!
**Introduction**
- **Greeting:** Hi, I'm Daniel, your host for this project.
- **Purpose:** Today, we'll build the heart of your grow or dry tent—a controller that manages humidity, temperature, and ventilation.
**Specifications and Initial Concept**
- **Overview:** I began with an Arduino-based system but found it too complex for general use.
- **Improvement:** Transitioned to an ESP32 for cloud capabilities but decided to simplify further for broader accessibility.
- **Final Design:** A streamlined, paper-based layout for easy assembly and cost efficiency.
**Materials and Components**
- **Main Components:**
- 12V power supply
- Step-down converters for fan speed control
- Humidity controller with industrial SHT20 sensor
- Basic humidifier with dual sonic discs
- Fans and lighting setup
- **Additional Components:**
- WAGO connectors
- Dupont connectors
- Cable fixers
- Printed mounts
**Assembly Steps**
1. **Preparation:**
- Print the layout and glue it to a wood board (minimum size 360 x 30 x 16 mm).
- Gather all necessary components.
2. **Component Installation:**
- Install the power supply and step-down converters.
- Connect the humidity controller and sensors.
- Set up the fans and lighting with appropriate connectors.
- Use cable canals and spiral wraps for neat cable management.
3. **Final Touches:**
- Mount the assembled controller board in your tent.
- Ensure all cables are secured and connections are tight.
- Test the system to verify everything functions correctly.
**Timers and Lighting**
- **Lamp Timers:**
- Lamp one: 6-9 AM and 9 PM-12 AM (6 hours total)
- Lamp two: 9 AM-9 PM (12 hours total)
- For grow tent: 18 hours of light
- For flowering tent: 12 hours of light using only lamp two
- **Energy Efficiency:** Use a solar balcony system for cheaper daylight energy.
**Conclusion**
- **Ease of Use:** The final design is very easy to build and cost-effective.
- **Availability:** All designs and additional components are available on Thingiverse.
- **Encouragement:** Anyone can do this project. It's reliable, practical, and enhances your grow or dry tent setup.
**Outro**
- **Sign-off:** I hope your build went smoothly! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. Happy growing!

Update 2024-08-18: Setup Demonstrations as a Grow Tent
https://youtube.com/shorts/tNaAS6XS6JA
In this YouTube Short, I'll demonstrate how I use this setup as a grow tent. While it's just a small harvest, the focus of the video is on showcasing the technical aspects. Imagine your splendid harvest thriving inside this controlled environment. The tent offers all the drying strategies you might need, including the crucial dark room to prevent light from degrading the quality of your harvest.
With that in mind, the main consideration is how to ventilate. I've disabled all the internal fans, running only the exhaust fan 24/7 to maintain proper airflow. The humidity inside the tent is set at 60%. Since it's currently summer and quite hot in Europe, the temperature is a bit higher than I'd prefer, but humidity is the more critical factor.
I've spread out the buds to ensure enough space between them and opted to hang individual branches instead of whole plants, trimming off the main fan leaves. However, you could also choose to include internal ventilation and hang entire plants to dry—it's all about what works best for you.
