I have been using desiccant containers when storing filament in a box. After purchasing vacuum bags I noticed that these containers, that are positioned in the center hole of the spool, are being closed off by the vacuum bag. That will reduce their effectivity considerably. That gave me the idea to create a container that would sort of wrap around the filament on the spool so that within the vacuum bag the desiccant stays in close proximity to the filament.
The design has an opening for the popular panel mount hygrometer/thermometer. I managed to print it without supports on its side using standard PLA.
Since this is an experiment without any long term testing I don't know if it does the job nor if it contains enough desiccant. All this will vary depending on initial moisture content of the filament, etc.
