The 3D-printed elven leaf armor is a masterpiece of ethereal elegance and intricate craftsmanship. Inspired by the natural world, the armor features an exquisite array of overlapping leaf motifs that form a flexible yet protective shell. Each leaf is detailed with delicate and subtle texture, creating a lifelike appearance. Designed to provide both mobility and defense, the elven leaf armor embodies the harmony between nature and elven artistry, offering a blend of beauty and functionality that is both striking and magical.

Printing Instructions:

  • .16mm layer height for best results
  • Print in place
  • No brim
  • Use glue if you have adhesion problems with your printer, but if you have a tuned in printer, you shouldn't need it. If your layer 1 adheres well, you should be fine. It if pulls up, then I would restart the print.
  • Filament used in display print was Bambu Labs Silver PLA

V2: Simplified and improved model that added more flexibility, faster slice times. I was hoping for faster print times, but those remain about the same. Also included a larger 20x20 model that fits 256x256x256 beds, and a 4x4 sample print model to test adhesion. I have an idea for a V3 that may help with print times.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Dragon Scale Fabric was looked at for inspiration among other chainmail sources including traditional medieval scale armor, but Elven Leaf Armor was designed from a new CAD model from the ground up. Differences include textured scale, added more flexibility, faster slice times, and a simpler polygon model.
