Use M3 nuts and bolts to put everything together. For attaching the arms to the rails you can use hex head M3 bolts and butterfly M3 nuts to make adjusting the belt tension easier.

The rod connecting the two “rails” is for rigidity only, not for the belt to go around it.

Kudos to the author of the original, as it made my work much easier.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Different mount and coupler in order to use 12-teeth version of RS550 12V DC motor instead of Dremel 3000/4000
  • 608 bearings on the rollers and coupler
  • Switched the nut pockets between the table and one of the arms, as I find it much easier to unscrew if I need to take off the belt
  • Added adjustability to the position of one of the rollers to allow use of readily available sanding belts
