Fenix PD36R tailstand / button protector endcap

This is an endcap I designed for my PD36R. It allows me to sit the flashlight on end, and protects the button.

I really liked my PD36R, but I didn't like that I couldn't stand it on end to save me having to hold it in some situations, so I designed this endcap. It snaps on very securely. It also prevents the button being pressed accidentally, handy if you have it kicking around in a bag with other stuff etc.

I've designed it to use the wrist strap to add security - this also allows you to unsnap one side of the cap and flip it up to access the button with less effort if you need to. However, you can probably also use it without as (at least with my pretty decently calibrated printer) it will snap in with close tolerances.

It's actually a solid model, but I printed mine with a hex skeletonization that looks pretty nice. You can make similar skeletonized effects by simply printing without top and bottom exterior layers and using hex infill or similar.

If you print the endcap in black, it's hard to tell its not an official piece.
