While a great design, i found it to be fragile, prone to print failure and the mechanism prone to getting stuck. My version is designed to guarantee a sucessful print wile also making it sturdier and eliminating friction points that make the original get stuck while open. The back also has a mounting slot.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
Assemble the swivel and use the short peg to lock the wheel into place: |
Use the long peg to lock the swivel into place: |
Place the tail in place, and use about 2 inches of filament to lock the tail to the swivel. Dont cut the filament too short to ensure the tail remains in place: |
Lock the box push the box into the base. The two parts should snap together, but there are also two holes in the back that can be used for 2.5 screws. |
Place the lid and the face. Mount WallMounter on a wall and slide the cat box into it. |
TIPS:
Make sure the swivel wheel can rotate freely. if needed, make it roll for a few minutes until it spins wwithout effort. Same thing with the tail and the box lid. move them back and forth for a while, until the lid loosens up.
Slotting the base and box can be a bit tricky. i found that the easiest way is to push the box onto the base on the edge of a table.
The wall mounting mechanism is meant to give some resistance when slotting it in and out. please keep this in mind.
The author remixed this model.
The box was re-designed as a 2 part print. The swivel mechanism was re designed for strenght and added a wheel, to minimize friction. Redesigned tail to prevent it from falling off.
