This is a tip up designed for ice fishing in brutal Canadian winters. It is designed for a standard 8" hole and does not require the use of a ice fishing rod. Simply attach the fishing line to a lure and place over the ice-fishing hole. The locking piece can then be inserted to align the tip up with the hole and prevent ice from freezing over. Then bend the flag and set it in the trip hook. When a fish pulls on the line, it will turn the reel and cause the flag to be released. This is your sign to start reeling in the line to retrieve the fish.
Required Materials:
1x M4 Self tapping screw 40-60 mm
1x Metal Coat Hanger or 2 mm dia wire
1x Fishing Line
Recommended Print Settings:
I printed everything in CF-PETG for its rigid yet elastic properties and cold weather performance. Normal PETG should also work, but your mileage may vary. I printed everything on my Sovol SV06 Plus with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.3 mm layer height. The reel will require supports for printing, but everything else should not require supports. The Trigger file shows the bends you need to make with a piece of the coat hanger.
