DeWalt or Harbor Freight Hercules Battery Powered Light (12V to 24V LED Light Bulb)

PDFFirst, the original I modified is a very beautiful structure. Please check it out. I've bought battery backup bulbs before and when the power went out, they were not very bright. I made this for any power outage and with several batteries they will last for days if needed. With 1050 lumens, that is about like a 75-watt incandescent bulb.
When printing you will need to use support everywhere. With the base there are two versions, Dewalt and Hercules. You will need two each, 4mm X 25 and 35mm long screws if you put in brass insert from the top side of the bulb section. A 4.5 to 5mm hole will need to be drilled in the center of each boss first. I went this way due to buying the wrong inserts. The straight fluted inserts are good for not twisting in the hole but terrible for pullout without a plastic backing before it. Otherwise, the herringbone style insert will work on bottom side of the top part with shorter screws. For the battery contacts, I use two male blade terminals. Clamp wires on first and insert battery. Slide terminals into the case as far as they will go into the battery and down flat into the slot cavity. With the switch soldered with both wires and inserted, fill cavity with hot glue to prevent any terminal movement.
The middle section holes will need to be drilled larger for the screw to pass through without it threading in the holes. For some reason that was the design of the originator. Check orientation, it may look at first bidirectional but goes on one way as does the top. If you forget to put it on before wiring, it can be manipulated on afterwards.
The top section uses 4mm x 6mm long inserts, either side as explained above. The center bulb contact is a 5mm button head screw or similar. The hole is prethreaded for a tight fit. I used a ring terminal with wire, or just twist a piece of wire around the 4mm screw on the bottom side. Put on washer and nut and tighten. The other side of the wire goes to one side of the switch. The bulb thread terminal is a piece of 6mm nickel strip used in spot welding batteries together. The black wire goes from the negative side blade terminal to the metal strip that is the light bulb threaded side. I made the wire long enough to make a loop on the end for the 3mm screw to fasten into the bottom side by the terminal strip slot. I soldered the end of the strip at the base of the loop for good contact and a way to fasten both together with the screw. I doubled the strip over in the screw-in base and pressed it in the threaded side. You may want to glue it in. Careful not to get glue on the contact side.
