This is a cover of DEC transmission axes for the Losmandy G11T equatorial mount after changing the transmission method via pulley.
Losmandy mounts are all well designed for easy service & maintenance. The original design between worm gear rotation axis and motor reducer box axis is via 1:1 gear transmission. So it looks straightforward to try the pulley modification.
However, the DEC worm gear rotation axis and its corresponding turning gear are press-fitted together, so one need to make another DEC worm gear rotation axis for the corresponding turning pulley. This can be done easily by a lathe machine.
The rotation axis is made from a 8mm-diameter stainless steel cylinder bar, and lathe it to 4.78mm-diameter with 18mm in length & adjacent with 8mm-diameter with 18mm in length, so total 36mm in length. (Note: this part of 8mm-diameter with 18mm in length is more than enough, one can see this part protrudes above the pulley surface from the picture.)
The C-C distance between the 2 rotation axes of the DEC part of G11T mount is around 38mm, and there are various possible choices of pulley-teeth & belt-length combination to match this requirement. One choice is GT2 T48 pulley and GT2 belt with length 172mm, which fit the modification perfectly. So the following items are required:
Stainless steel rotation axis for DEC worm gear.
GT2 T48 pulley: 2 are needed. One with 8mm center-hole & one with 5mm center-hole
GT2 pulley belt: 1 are needed. Belt length is 172mm (or 86 teeth).
Screw & washer: 2 set are required. The washer diameter is around 8mm.
