Welcome to my first published model!

This is a wall mount for the Technic Mercedes F1 car. The majority of mounts for this car require supports and/or are printed in an orientation where the car will be pulling against the layer lines - leading to failure.

The concept of a side printed model for strength came from @Vincents fantastic mount for the Technic McLaren: https://www.printables.com/model/358179-lego-technic-42141-mclaren-formula-1-f1-race-car-w

Sadly, due to the improvements made by LEGO on the Mercedes, the car is significantly more difficult to mount - especially with the airbox mounted steering they added which puts a drive shaft down the middle of the car.

I still wanted a model I could print without supports in 30-40 minutes - and so I came up with a 2-part print which intersects to form the mount. Once on the wall the halves cannot part as the screws pin it together.

Printing Instructions

The pictured version is printed on my X1C in white PC. With PC you can get away with less infill - but in truth the only reason I used PC is because I've just started printing with it and I printed Vincent's McLaren mount with it. It's must match!

For my prototypes I used PLA and this works fine. For PLA use 25% infill as a minimum.

You can also bump the walls up to 3, however, you will have to press the two halves together with a bit more effort or file it a little.

For added strength, you can glue the part before mounting. It's not necessary - especially if you use PC but no harm in doing it!
