This is a mount for the LDO Smart Orbiter 3.0, for the SecKit SK-Tank v2 with the carbon fiber X gantry. It supports both the MGN9 or MGN12 rails, and use with or without the EBB36 toolboard that you can get with the Tank. I don't yet have support for the Orbiter 3.0 ‘Orbitool’ toolboard… it would normally mount on the back of the Orbiter's stepper motor, but that will further restrict Y movement, so I'd rather put it where the EBB36 is in the current design, or turn the extruder 90 degrees.

Hopefully the pictures are self-explanatory, but here are some notes:

  • I've provided various files including .step, .3mf, .stl, and also .dxf for the carriage and belt clamps in case you want to CNC them out of carbon fiber like I did.
    • 4mm CF for the carriage, 2mm CF for the belt clamps
  • The extruder mounts to the carriage via the two M3 bolts that go through the stepper. You'll need to replace these with longer ones.
    • (Optional) You may rotate the stepper 180 degrees so the stepper wires come out the top.
  • The belt clamps and carriage have grooves to hold the belts securely. Make sure to orient the belt clamps accordingly.
  • Use small standoffs to mount the EBB36.
  • The X endstop should mount on the bottom of the CF gantry.
  • The left belt clamp bottom screw (which also holds the top of the X endstop sensor) may hit the X gantry at the far left X position depending on clearance. Use a screw with a low-profile head, and put it in from the back, with a nut on the front. You may still need to limit how far you go in the minus X direction.
  • I provided a mount for the Beacon Z probe. It also works with the Cartographer (which I use) as it has pretty much the same form factor.
  • Cable management is still a work in progress :-)
  • Probe offsets:
    • X -6.5mm
    • Y +19.9mm
  • Axis limits:
    • X 13-400mm, endstop at 13mm
      • You might be able to go lower on X depending on screw head clearance mentioned above
    • Y 0-380mm, endstop at 378mm
  • To be added:
    • A small front clamp for the cable mast, to avoid the cable ties pinching the wires;
    • A mast for use without a toolboard;
    • An upper front mount for the Orbiter 3.0 toolboard;
    • A mast for the Orbiter 3.0 toolboard;
    • Mounts for other Z probes (pinda, BLTouch);
    • Cable management;
      • I'm thinking about mountable raceways and/or something to guide wires around the back of the gantry without touching it.
    • A mount for a part cooling fan.
    • A cover.
