Description

PDF

These bobber come in different shapes and sizes. They are modular and can be assembled regarding to your specific use case. Can be adusted and customized on the fly without tools

Printing:
Print the BobberBody and the Marker in the given orientation, the Pole and the Lug on its flat side. The BobberBody needs a brim. No support needed.
Using a 0.4 nozzle, a layerhight of 0.2mm works fine. 2-3 Perimeters are fine for every part but the Pole. It should be made out of as much perimeters as you can make it (around 6). Choose lightning infill at 15%
Dial the amount of top/bottom layers to 4-5 only for the BobberBody in order to ensure watertightness.
If you add a manual color change, you can achieve really good contrasts and visibility. The parts are also easy to paint by hand.
Note: Due to some fine details on the treaded parts you should make sure you do not over extrude. A litte does no harm though. Also due to these fine details, using a 0.6 nozzle might does not work

Assembly:
Put the Lug to the BobberBodys lower side and the Pole on top. If you are using the Marker part, put two of them on top of the Pole and tighten them against each other.

How to know the lift of the bobber (How much lead is needed):
1) Put the Bobber and ALL parts you want to use it with in slicer and slice it. Depending on your filaments density (assuming your slicer knows about this) it will give the weight of your model, depending on your choosen setings and filament. (In Prusaslicer on the bottom right side)
2) Substract the lift, given in the table below, from the weight your slicer told you
3)Now you know how much weight your bobber will carry if swimming and fully assembled

TypeLift
A Tiny5.7 [g] / 0.20 [oz]
A Smal11.9 [g] / 0.42 [oz]
A18.7 [g] / 0.66 [oz]
B16.0 [g] / 0.56 [oz]
C13.5 [g] / 0.48 [oz]
C Long21.7 [g] / 0.77 [oz]

Note: The lift in the Table is only a rough estimate, derived from the displacement (volume) of the BobberBody and from the assumption it will be used in freshwater

If you need a Bobber with more lift than you can get here, just scale it up a little in slicer until its fitting for you.

You'll find a lot of different parts in order to customize the bobber to your needs, like a holder for glow sticks, longer Markers and extra long Lugs and Poles

 CHANGE LOG 25.07.2024
