I really love Binabo. It's a great construction toy of amazing quality. But of course I had to make it printable to extend it.
This approximates an original Binabo with some compromises made for printability and programmer sanity.
This small part was really only made to optimize the tolerances of the connectors but there might be some use for it to terminate open connections in proper end points.
This new part with 3 connections was pretty obvious and fits well into the system. Do you have ideas for other new parts?
Binabo has been made with different bioplastics that can be bent easily, won't break and return to it's original form. For printed pieces to work really well, they would have to be made from a similar material. I have had success with TPU but the one I have bends a bit too easily. When you combine original Binabo with a few PLA printed parts, there is no real problem, as the original pieces can do most of the bending.
While printing extensions is fun, you probably cannot come close to the quality of the original. Also, these creators deserve some support for their choice of sustainable materials and a sustainable business concept. So get a set (or five) of original Binabos and then start printing extensions! https://www.tictoys.de/de/produkte/binabo-ball/
Combine your Lego Duplo with Binabo. It works really well together!
Needs to be printed with supports because of the height difference in the connector.
