Controllable XRP Nerf Crossbow

Get it

  • (2) 9g servos (same kind as the lifter servo)
  • (1) rubber band
  • (10cm) String or floss
  • (1) Nerf dart
  • No tools required, but a screwdriver is recommended

Print it

Download v2_ALL_PARTS.3mf and print all parts at once with the following settings:

  • PLA
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 15% infill
  • No supports

Build it

Build your Nerf crossbow by following the instructions in Nerf Crossbow XRP [V2] Assembly Instructions.pdf. It's in the “Files” tab under “Other files”.

Load it

Attach your crossbow to the robot before loading a dart.

Code it

Download xrp_crossbow_example.py from this Github repository. Run it using https://xrpcode.wpi.edu/ load a dart, push the USER button, and watch it shoot!

  • V2
    • More power. No more obstruction by the dart guide means darts fly farther.
    • Easier assembly. Connections between parts have been redesigned to make assembly even easier.
    • More realistic. Look at it! It looks like a real crossbow.
    • More Sturdy. There is less wiggle where the servos are mounted.
    • Less plastic. V2 uses 17% less plastic than V1.
