This Lithophane lamp box fits on an IKEA Tarnaby Lamp. It is designed for 100mmx100mm lithophane pictures with the frame 3mm thick. I used itslitho.com to generate my pictures.
Printing:
I used PrusaSlicer and printed the box in PETG. If using a translucent PETG the infill pattern will show through which can add a nice touch. I had better results printing the base by painting seams on the inside corner of the posts. This helped keep the channels for the lithophane panes clear. Supports are not required.
I printed the lithophanes in both white ASA and PETG. I found that ASA gave a sepia color that I liked when using a natural white bulb but the features were darker. Using ASA I had to use a 6W bulb at full intensity. The PETG was more translucent showing the features better but gave a more black and white result. So I used a T6 E12 4W 2100K warm light with amber glass LED bulb which gave the sepia result I was looking for. Also, I only had to use a 4W bulb and still did not have to turn the dimmer full on.
Below are changes to the default print settings in PrusaSlicer for the MK4 printer.
Lithophane Print Settings: 0.15mm STRUCTURAL
Fill Density: 100%
Fill Pattern: Rectilinear
Brim type: Outer brim only
Brim width: 4mm
Raft layers: 3
Box Print Settings: 0.20mm STRUCTURAL
Fill Density: 20%
Fille pattern: Adaptive Cubic (nice effect if using translucent PETG)
Assembly:
There are four (4) parts to this lithophane lamp box. The screw-on lid attaches to the the base using M3x10-12mm screws and the holes are sized to be self tapping. I've included a glue-on lid that doesn't have the screw holes. There is also a lamp ring and lamp ring retainer that snap together to act as a bearing allowing the base to easily rotate.

I've added a rotating base and screws holes for the top with a glue on top option. In addition I flatted the bottom so that supports are not required.
