This item reduces drastically the noise of the turbo fan, see (and listen) the video:
There are 3 levels of noise reduction:
Stock silencer “Christmas tree” only: the G-Code of this model is precharged in the memory of the S1. It cuts effectively the high frequences, the most annoying because they are very intense (the whole sound seems like a whistle more than a blowing). Remains a loud blowing noise.
Stock silencer + chimney: reduces most of the remaining blowing noise by a double chamber strategy.
Stock silencer + chimney + cap: the cap redirects downwards the noise remaining from the previous solution, in the direction that you choice (tipically on back of the printer)
The air flow is not affected by these solutions.
The most of the remaing noise comes from walls and door of the printer, the air intake becomes a secondary source of noise.
I've printed chimney in PLA (Prusament Galaxy Black) whitout support. It is not perfect, but is good enough. Same filament for the cap, but it was printed with supports.
