[Update V2]
I updated the model including a top Cover (which you have to glue on) to get a even cleaner look. Also i found out you can disasseble the wireless charging pad and remove the silicone top by unscrewing 4 screws from the bottom and then just pop off the lid. With the new version and removed Silikone top you minimize the distance between the coil and the phone hence reducing heat dissipation.
I looked for a clean console to integrate into our Skoda Fabia 3 to have a wireless charging solution and some extra space to hide the wireless android auto adapter.
I wasn't happy with anything i found so i made my own one.
The model features a pressfit space for the wireless charging pad and also includes a little compartment so you won't lose some regular space to put your stuff in. You still get full space to use the cupholders and there are two cutouts where you can get the cabled mostly covered.
I just left the top uncovered so the rubber of the qi charger can stand out a little bit to add extra grip to the phone. But the whole smartphone ledge is tilted backwards so it can't fall out even without the rubber.
If you don't like it you can also print a simple one-layer cover and glue it onto the top and you will get a clean look.
All you need to get it done:
I used Extrudr GreenTec Pro Carbon for the nice matt finish. But PETG, ASA and others will work as well. Just keep in mind you can get into trouble with the small compartment because of overhangs. And you don't want to use regular PLA because of lacking UV and heat resistance.
I recommend using:
0.2mm layer height
10% infill
3 perimeter
Supports on the bottom and top. The little compartment doesn't necessarily need supports so you won't ruin the look.
Please make sure your printer is tuned well because the charger itself is just pressed into frame.
I recomment printing parallel to the top layer for the best look.
Have fun upgrading your Fabia with a modern style qi charging solution
Optional you can complete this setup with a wireless android auto module with also will find some place in the hollow backside of the print to get a fully functional smartphone interface.
The author remixed this model.
I used the original model mainly for the outer dimensions, because i was too lazy so measure the existing storage area. In the end I redesigned the whole model because i wasn't happy with the overall fit and of course it wasn't what i was aiming for.
