This is a late medieval-style plaque belt designed to be easy to FDM print, easy to customize, and easy to affix to any kind of backing. It can be used with the generic plaques or with specific plaques and colors and numbers to indicate the wearer's level of achievement in Amtgard ladder awards, such as, e.g., their number of Orders of the Warrior or Orders of the Owl.
It's easy to make an armor extension, so that the belt can be worn over armor or over regular court garb. I have riveted my belt plaques to a backing of soft-side Velcro and used scratchy-side Velcro to “buckle” the belt seamlessly and to attach the armor extension, as well.
I recommend measuring your target belt size (X inches) and printing (X/1.5") number of the 1.5" wide bases, plus a couple more in case of any problems. Then, plan out what inserts you want based on either pure aesthetics or your ladder awards (either all of them or just the ones you want to flex on people with :-D). Print those, spray paint everything gold or silver (I like the Rustoleum bright coat metallics, personally) and then paint the inserts however you like with model paints. Gloss cearcoat if you like; I haven't felt the need to do so on mine, so far.
The associated colors for each ladder award in the ROP, for your reference, as of 8.5.3:
On my belt, I've also added Griffon as a blue cabochon on a white background, to reflect the corpora-specific colors for that award in my kingdom, as well as a copper jester's cap on a black cabochon (Jovius), and I'm including a couple of the early OotW animal symbols from the old awards standards, just for fun.
Once your bases and inserts are painted, rivet (or stitch or glue or wire) your bases to your belt backing. Then, hot glue your inserts into the bases and you're ready to wear your new belt!
Feel free to remix to add new inserts or designs or plaque base heights, or whatever! The Onshape document can be found here.
