This modular tool holder / rack is specifically designed with a 3D Printer in mind and the tools used for everyday printing needs.
The modular holders slide on a rail system and can be swapped out and rearranged at any time. Duplicates can be printed and added to the rack. Multiple rail lengths are included for a variety of combinations.
All modular holders are 36mm wide, except one. The Pen Holder is 45 mm wide. The end caps are 10mm wide. End caps are meant to be tapped in with a mallet (no glue necessary).
Some holders print in multiple pieces to eliminate the need for support while printing, SImply super glue the pieces together after printing.
Note: My printer tolerances turned out to be 0.3mm. This is the gap needed for the holders to slide freely in the rail system without too much friction. Hopefully this gap is common for other printers. My prints glide smoothly.
The odd rail lengths are due to giving an extra 25mm or so of free space. I found out giving a little extra space is a good idea to slide tools as needed.
The following tools have been accommodated in the rack.
Original/Editable Fusion360 files are included. Let me know if you come up with additional tool holders for the system.
