I was inspired by ProkhorVLG and their Sunset Research Initiative worldbuilding project/art once again. This time, I decided to make the Concealed Assessment Node (C.A.N.).
It's a little spy robot disguised as a trash can.
If you press on the "foot pedal", the lid raises and the camera lifts up into view.
I've designed two "modes" for the C.A.N. You can have him all tucked up, or with his legs extended.
Assembly should be straight forward, if a little fiddly, and I've toleranced everything out fairly generously so even if your printer isn't 100% calibrated, it should be fine.
All you'll need is a little glue to hold everything together.
I plan on doing more models from the SRI universe, but if you want to see it for yourself, the website is www.sunset-system.com

PRINTING:
I suggest using your best judgement on tree vs standard supports for each piece, based on your experience with your own printer. I've oriented everything for ready-printing so no adjustment should be needed.
At 100% size, the fully assembled C.A.N. will stand about 6 inches tall.
Assembly itself should be self explanatory, but I suggest assembling the Lifter and Rollers, inserting it into the Main Body, then putting together the Pedal, Linkage, and Lid. After that, you can squeeze the Camera in and glue it in place.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
