I wanted to make my own crown stops for my Dewalt DWS779 miter saw. I printed mine in PLA with 200mm fences. At this size they showed a lot of deflection at the ends, even with 8 perims and dense infill. In the area that would be covered by the stock stops though, there was little to no deflection so they were still effective. I've included a few sizes - the smaller sizes should be less prone to deflection. Keep in mind that printing them longer than stock means that it might be possible for the saw blade to come into contact with the stop if it's on the inside of an angle cut.
Includes f3d file so you can tweak the parameters to create any size stops that you want, or modify them to fit other saws.
You can use your saw's included screws if available - or if your saw, like mine, uses 8mm screws you can use this model:
M8 Wing Bolt and Attachable Washer
For reference the official Dewalt stops are part number DW7084, and they are made to work with saws DW703, DW706, DW708, DW712, DW715, DW716, DW717, DW718 and DWS780.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
