This a wall mounting bracket for computer fans. I wanted a fan at my desk but it needed to be quiet and not take up desk space. This set of files is for a 12025 PC fan (120mm square, 25mm deep), which is the most common size these days. I have smaller fans that actually blow harder, but a smaller fan that moves more air is noisier.
*** If you Like/Heart/Add to Collection this listing and then post a comment requesting a model to fit a different size fan, I will try to post an additional model for your fan size when I have time.
Most of these fans run on 12v, but you can get them in 5v which will run off any USB charger you have (they usually don’t move as much air as a 12v fan though).
To complete the build as shown you will need (links below) a rocker switch, a 5.5mm x 2.1mm female barrel plug for the power supply, and some nuts and bolts (30mm long M3 bolts and nuts used here). I use these power supply barrel plugs in many projects because they work with Arduino boards and just about any electronics project. You don’t really need to do any soldering if you don’t want, you can always crimp on some female spade connectors to the wires. I solder if the project feels permanent. I’ve included links below for the parts described. You could complete the build without any switch or barrel plug connector by simply wiring the fan directly to any 12v power supply you have laying around. These fans rarely use more than 150mA. However, adding the power switch and a plug makes the fan more like a polished product, plus you will use these switches and plugs a lot if you plan to build other cool things like LED-neon lamps, Arduino bots, etc..
