When I travel with my mini van micro camper, I like at least a bit of luxury. Cheap plastic or sharp edged metal cutlery is not part of this idea. Therefor, I bought a 60 year old single cutlery set with horn handles. To avoid damages from rattling around in my travel kitchen box while on tour, I designed this cutlery box.
If you like the design, you can use the OpenScad files to create your own box.
I used basic variables like “HandleWidth", "HandleLength” etc. that you can use.
In addition, I needed some correction values for my specific items (the measures of these horn handles are not all the same). I added comments in the scad code, to identify them.
The fit of lid and bottom is very tight. I did not want to reprint and sanded just a little bit. You might set the tolerance (look for the comment) from 0.2mm to 0.4mm.
Look at the grid model of lid and bottom to see, how the single items are positioned.
Look at my design fails in the background of picture 1.
Printed in PETG.
