The second version of my Mini Filament Masterspool! For people who like to use a lot of filament samples and also want a spool for them.

The best features:

  • Prints faster than others due to less complex contours and doesnt need as much material!
  • integrated Filament label
  • integrated filament clips all around the top and bottom parts which doesn't bend the filament at all
  • spooling tool for easier and faster spooling of the filament
  • optional reinforcement insert to counter axial forces, in case u want to clamp the spool in this direction
  • A new stand that holds up to eight 50g or about five 100g spools!

Print instructions:

  • 0,2 mm layer height or less
  • I recommend to print the first 2mm of each bottom and top part solid. The rest can be printed with or without infill.
  • 3 outer walls recommended (for the thread)

Assembly:

You need: one bottom and one top part. The reinforcement part is optional

parts overview:

Step 1 (optional):

insert the reinforcement part into either the top or the bottom part of the spool

Step 2:

screw the bottom and top part together, done! easy right?

How to use the winding tool:

Step 1:

Put one end of the filament through one of the winding guides.

Step 2:

Insert the filament spool into the tool, and the filament tip into the spool.

Step 3:

put the spool with the tool on a Table like this and make sure they're aligned like this:

Step 4:

Hold the winding tool and spin the filament-spool to wind up the filament.

(I recommend to press the filament down firmly onto the table, so it gets tight enough on the spool. The spool doesn't always spin easily, you might need to add a little bit of force)

Step 5:

Clip the wound up filament into one of the integrated clips. Done!

Step 6 (optional):

Add a Label or just write with a marker on the integrated Label on the spool
