Description

This is a case for the GoPro Hero 9/10/11/12/13 camera. No supports are needed for any of the parts. Please read everything before printing and assembling.

Hardwares needed:

  • 4 M3x20 screws
  • 2 M3x25 screws
  • Glue or thin double sided tape

Note on case bottom and lid assembly:

You must install the 2 back hinge screws first before attempting to open the lid. The lid will not open properly and may seem stuck if you try try to open it without the screws installed. The screws will act as a guide for the hinge to move properly. Open the lid slowly at first to allow the two parts to adjust to each other. Then open and close the lid a few more times to loosen them. The tolerance is very tight so that there is no wiggle in the lid and bottom part assembly. Sand down any high spots on the hinge if there is too much resistance when first opening the lid. See note on fitment below if your parts are too tight.

Note on screws:

I recommend hex screws. Make sure you use quality screws. I find that cheap screws are not straight and can cause problems. Please make sure all screws are screwed in completely straight or else you might risk cracking the parts. Hand tighten so you can feel the resistance level and go slow to allow the screws to cut into the printed part. Do not over tighten. Leave some gap and then test closing the lid

Optional parts:

The center back bar is an optional part and can be left out. You can install it to give it a most customized look with a contrasting color to the rest of the case.

Recommended print settings:

Layer height: 0.2
Wall loop/count: 3
Infill: 25% grid pattern or similar
Top layers: 4
Bottom layers: 4
Elephant foot compensation: 0.2 - 0.4 depending on your printer

Print speed: I recommend printing the main case (lid and bottom) slow at 40-60mm/s for the best surface finish and to ensure all of the holes are perfect for the screws to go in. The hinges will fit together much easier too. All other parts can be printed fast 100-250mm/s since they will be inside and surface quality will not be seen.

Note on fitment: If the parts are too loose or too tight, due to different printer print accuracy, please resize the parts in your slicing software up or down by 0.25% at a time. For example, if a part is too tight, resize it down from 100% to 99.75%. Keep resizing it 0.25% at a time until the part fits perfectly. Another option would be to adjust the X-Y contour compensation. Please keep in mind that matte filaments or any filaments with particles inside will make your prints slightly larger and tighter than regular smooth PLA/PETG.
